Lee Kuhns was born by the power of the Holy Spirit into Christ’s death and resurrection through the sacrament of Holy Baptism on January 28, 1962 at Salem Lutheran in Quincy, MA. He enjoys being a son and heir of the one true God and lives in his God-given baptismal grace each day. During his teen years in San Diego, he participated in Senior Luther League at Good Shepherd Lutheran. He was confirmed in his baptismal faith on February 15, 1976.
Upon graduating from high school, the Lord led Lee to serve his country by joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He ultimately obtained the rank of Sergeant and received an honorable discharge after six years of service. He attended and graduated with a BA in Theological Studies from Christ College, Irvine.
The Lord blessed Lee with 23 years of marriage to Donna Bourne before He crowned her with eternal glory in 2008.
The Lord had mercy on Lee and graced him with his wife Pam Waack whom he met at Redeemer by the Sea Lutheran Church in Carlsbad, CA. The Lord joined them in marriage on April 17, 2010. Pam and Lee, enjoy God’s creation by hiking, jogging, bicycling, and golfing. They enjoy God’s gift of everlasting life through Word and Sacrament.
The Lord called Lee to public ministry in 2009. Lee received a Master of Divinity in 2013 from Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary. During his studies at the seminary, he was honored to concurrently serve four years of his vicarage at Immanuel Lutheran in Orange, CA. He was ordained and installed in 2014 at Faith Lutheran in El Campo, TX where he served until 2019. He later accepted a call to Peace Lutheran Church & School in Kissimmee, FL in 2020. He then retired from full-time public ministry in September 2022. Again, the Lord had mercy on His humble servant and graced him with a call to serve New Life Lutheran in Sebring, FL in December 2024.
Lee Kuhns often looks back in wonder at what God has done in his life to call, prepare, sustain, use, and keep him in His kingdom through Word & Sacrament.
