Please join us for Maundy Thursday Service w/Lord’s Supper & Stripping of Chancel (4/2 at 4 PM).
Christ shows us the full extent of God’s love for us. The Church calls this day Maundy because of Jesus’ new command in the Gospel that his followers love one another. The Year B lessons focus on the fulfillment of the Passover, and the Year C lessons on the fulfillment of the New Covenant. The Year A lessons, however, focus on Christ’s instruction for humility and love. Christ shows the full extent of His love in both service and sacrifice. He loves us more than life and feeds us His flesh and blood to prove it. Reconciled to God through the flesh and blood of Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit we follow His instruction to love each other.
This year’s Lenten series explores the prophecies of Zechariah, offering an enriching look at our Savior Jesus, particularly as these prophecies relate to the events of Jesus’ Holy Week passion, death, and resurrection.
Our readings for Maundy Thursday Service are:
Zechariah 13:1-3
1 Corinthians 11:17-32
John 13:1-17, 34
The message for the evening is:
A Cleansing Fountain (Zechariah 13:1-3)
